As the youngest daughter in a Chaldean family, I felt a huge weight of expectations placed on me to pursue a career that honored my parents’ sacrifices, lived up to the standards set by my siblings, and earned respect within my community. I began college on the pharmacy track, but quickly realized my true passion was far from the medical field. A TikTok video about product design sparked my curiosity and opened the door to a world I’d never considered. That moment led me to explore user experience design and research, eventually guiding me toward studies in psychology and graphic design. I graduated in 2025 with a degree in Psychology and Graphic Design, and this fall, I’ll begin my master’s journey at the University of Michigan’s School of Information, specializing in UX Design and Research. I’ve never been more confident in my direction—and I’m proud to have redefined success on my own terms, showing that fulfillment and purpose aren’t confined to traditional paths. The past few years have brought their share of challenges, but the personal growth I’ve gained has been the greatest reward. Thanks for being here <3
